Development Manager—my role is to build relationships in our community and to tell the United Way Reno County story (alongside the stories of our partners) in compelling ways in effort to drive engagement with donors, volunteers and advocates.
What previous work experiences have shaped your career, and how did they lead you to United Way?
I stated in non-profit work in 2008 and have held a number of different roles in various non-profit agencies. Being a part of the “helpers” (Mr. Rogers version) brings me joy.
How do you like to spend your time outside of work, and what activities do you enjoy with your family?
My family and I enjoy being outdoors—from walks around the neighborhood, to playing at the park, cruising the country, hiking, fishing, floating—we love it all! I also love to cook and thankfully, my family loves to eat what I make.
What hobbies or interests do you have that help you maintain a work-life balance?
Really enjoy unplugging from the world by watching reality TV shows! 😊 Bravo for the win!
What is one lesson you've learned throughout your career that you apply to your work at United Way?
Everyone has something they care deeply about—and-- they have a gift which can make a difference!
