What We Do
For more than 80 years, United Way of Reno County has played a unique role by bringing together people from every part of our community - nonprofit organizations, volunteers, advocates, donors, community leaders, elected officials, and people with lived experience.
TOGETHER, we look at the big picture when it comes to the future of our community to identify gaps and best leverage points to create sustainable impact.
We are UNITED in taking on many of our community's toughest challenges, addressing them at their roots through investments in strong partnerships. In addition, we identify specific barriers limiting our community's ability to provide equitable opportunities to everyone in Reno County.

How We Support the Community
-
Community Investment Funded Partners
Fair and equitable distribution of resources. United Way is predominantly a volunteer-led organization that matches the resources of people in the community who care, to people in the community who need help and resources. UWRC currently supports 27 local nonprofit organizations, streamlining the efficient delivery of human and health services.
United Way Community Impact Work
United Way Direct Programs are the heartbeat of our community outreach efforts, pulsating with purpose and impact. These programs serve as lifelines, connecting individuals and families to vital resources and support systems. From providing access to education and healthcare to fostering financial stability and promoting wellness, United Way Direct Programs are the catalysts for positive change. Through collaboration and dedication, we empower communities to thrive and flourish, ensuring that no one is left behind. Together, we build a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
Community Partnerships
Collective Impact is our approach to community problem solving. No one organization alone in isolation can solve complex community problems. Collective Impact requires that everyone work together in partnership – businesses, city and state government, schools, churches, foundations, and nonprofit organizations – to tackle our most pressing challenges and develop lasting solutions. Large scale change happens when we all work together toward a common goal, share our resources, hold mutually reinforcing activities and continually communicate to make true progress.
