Celebrating Another Successful Community Work Day

500 Volunteers >> 36 Projects >> 1 Day of Giving Back

On Sat., Aug. 24, United Way of Reno County hosted it's annual Community Work Day event, marking the 14th year for this day of giving back.

More than 500 community members gave their time as volunteers to help on 36 projects throughout the county--ranging from cleaning garden beds at the Hospice House to painting homes for seniors and even helping on a project in Sylvia at the old grade school.

UWRC would like to thank the volunteer groups for their hard work, the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Hutchinson for making sure no one went to the job sites hungry, and particularly, our Community Work Day Planning Committee members: Doris Dreiling, Tomi Foust,  Rod Hageman, Curtis Mitchell, Jeff Thompson and Kathy Vieyra.
