Shop Local. Give Local: 4th Annual Event Showcases Fashion to Raise Funds
The 4th Annual Shop Local. Give Local! event, held on Nov. 7th, was a resounding success, drawing a crowd of fashion enthusiasts and community supporters to downtown Hutchinson for a night of shopping and fun. Featuring eight local boutiques, the event combined style and philanthropy to benefit the United Way of Reno County, raising funds for 33 local non-profit programs.
The event, a one-stop shopping opportunity for participants, featured styles from eight local boutiques including Amelia's, Brick House, Kendra Scott, Phoenician Salon & Day Spa, Westphal Jewelers, Sage River Market, Sugar Creek Boutique and Wildflower Boutique, with each participating business donating a percentage of their sales to the United Way. Additionally this year, several event sponsors helped raise even more funds for UWRC. Those local sponsors were: Farm Bureau Financial Services: Mary Winters and Kati Brooks, Heartland Credit Union, Security 1st Title, Temaat Liquor, and Woodwork Manufacturing & Supply.
The return of the crowd-favorite fashion show highlighted the evening and featured local shoppers-turned-models in a range of outfits, from casual wear to elegant evening attire, and even included a new line of menswear. VIP ticket holders were also able to take in the show from their reserved space in the VIP Sleep Shoppe Lounge—a new offering featuring comfy seating options provided by the Sleep Shoppe & Furniture Gallery.
"We couldn’t be more pleased with the turnout this year," said Amy Bretz, event organizer. "It was incredible to see the community come together to support local businesses and United Way. The energy in the room was contagious, and it’s amazing to know that the funds raised today will make such a positive impact in our community."
As the event wrapped up, attendees left with full shopping bags, big smiles, and the satisfaction of knowing they had made a difference in the lives of others.
