Special Holiday-Themed Event Raises Nearly $30,000 for UWRC
Hutchinson, KS – November 22, 2024 – A recent fun-filled, white-themed holiday party turned into an extraordinary success for United Way of Reno County—raising nearly $30,000 for this year’s community-wide campaign.
Opulence & Ornaments: A Luxe White Elephant Soiree was held at Prairie Dunes Country Club and brought together a group of generous local women to swap upscale white elephant gifts, enjoy a fantastic special menu of all-white-themed food and beverages created by Chef Rick Carr and learn how to put together the perfect holiday tablescape from the talented Absolutely Flowers team.
“Tonight is a perfect example of how our community comes together to make a lasting impact,” said Lacey Mills, CEO of United Way of Reno County. “We are so grateful to all the participants, hosts and partners who worked their magic to help make this event such a success. The money raised tonight will go directly toward funding programs which help improve the lives of people in our own backyard,” Mills added.
The funds raised during the event will go to support 21 local non-profit organizations and their 33 unique programs which provide critical services to Reno County residents in areas related to education, health, and financial stability. United Way of Reno County has long been committed to addressing the community's most pressing needs, and this successful fundraiser will help fuel efforts for the year ahead.
“The generosity of everyone who participated in the white elephant party is truly heartwarming,” said Amy Kraft, a long-time United Way supporter. “It’s inspiring to see so many people come together for a great cause, and I’m proud to be part of a community that cares so deeply.”
